Owatonna Newborn Photographer
Mama, I see you.
You’ve just done something incredible—you brought new life into the world. And while most of the focus during a newborn session is (understandably!) on your precious baby, I want to make sure you feel beautiful, supported, and celebrated, too.
As a newborn photographer here in Owatonna, MN, I love creating a space where moms feel just as special as their little ones. Whether you’re recovering, adjusting to life with a newborn, or simply running on very little sleep—you deserve a moment that’s just for you.
You Already Have Wardrobe Options—No Stress Necessary!
If you did a maternity session with me, you probably remember all those beautiful gowns you had to choose from. The good news? Many of those gowns work perfectly for newborn sessions, too!
You're more than welcome to borrow from my client closet again—whether you're looking for something flowing, neutral, fitted, or comfy. These gowns are made to photograph beautifully and help you feel confident and put-together, even on the days that feel a little messy.
Want to Pamper Yourself a Little? Let’s Do It.
I also offer professional hair and makeup services for your newborn session for an additional $100. It’s such a lovely way to treat yourself—especially after all you’ve been through bringing your baby into the world.
Many moms tell me how nice it feels to sit down, relax, and let someone else take care of them for a change. And when you look good, you feel good—and that confidence shines through in your photos.
If You’re Bringing Your Own Outfit
You’re totally welcome to wear your own outfit if you’d prefer! If so, here are a few tips:
- Stick to neutral or soft tones like ivory, beige, soft pinks, or pastels
- Avoid bold patterns, logos, or words—these can distract from the connection and emotion in your images
- Choose something comfortable, especially if you’re still healing—think stretchy dresses, flowy tops, or knit pieces that feel good on your body
Remember: the goal isn’t perfection. It’s capturing your love, your strength, your connection with this brand-new little human.
You Belong in These Photos, Too
So many moms shy away from being in front of the camera during newborn sessions—but these moments are for you just as much as they are for your baby. One day, your child will look back on these photos and see the love in your eyes. They won’t notice if your hair wasn’t perfect or if you were tired. They’ll see you. And that’s what matters.
If you’re getting ready to book your newborn session and have questions about wardrobe, hair, or how the process works—don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m here to guide you every step of the way.
